I've heard I have a belly

I really need to get better about posting here... So much is changing all the time and I want to keep you all updated, but, well, things get in the way. Sorry!

Anyway, today I'm 16w4d pregnant, which absolutely blows my mind. I'm actually starting to feel pregnant lately, which is amazing. Well, most of the time. It would be nice to be able to get comfortable in bed and get a decent nights sleep! I can't lie on my back or either side for too long before I get sore, so I just toss and turn a lot. I've been getting a lot of round ligament pain lately (growing pains) and my uterus has been moving up higher in my abdomen. A pretty cool feeling, except the three days where it must've been pressed right up against my bladder and I was peeing every hour on the hour. Now that was interesting! My belly must've become more noticeable in the last few days, because I had several co-workers gasp and say "holy crap! you actually have a belly now!" and then last night when I came downstairs in my pj's Jer said something along the lines of "your belly looks really big" or something like that. Thanks hun! And for the record, it's not really big! lol. It was just sticking out because I'd just worked out and for some reason when my body temperature rises, my belly pops out a little more. I'm not the only pregnant chick to notice this, so don't look at me like I'm a freak. hee hee. Alright, I know I'm getting overly defensive about this so I'll shut up. As of today I've gained 9 pounds, so I'm right on track. Yay.

I'm really excited for the sonogram on Tuesday! I can't wait to actually see my baby and find out if it's a he or a she. I am not, however, looking forward to drinking four glasses of water in the hour before my sonogram! I can't even imagine how badly I'm going to have to pee! I just hope they get me in right away for my appointment. I swear if I have to sit in the waiting room with a full bladder for more than 5 minutes I am going to freak out on some people! Anyway, I've had some people tell me I should drink a Coke or something before the appointment as well so that the sugar and caffeine make the baby move around (therefore he/she won't be asleep with his/her legs crossed or something). Seems like a pretty good idea, especially since every time I drink a cup of coffee I can feel the little bugger start moving around in there. Kind of like a little insurance policy to ensure we'll find out the sex...

And for those of you that are shaking your heads at me right now, I was told by my doctor that I can have 1-2 cups of coffee a day (up to 250 mg of caffeine) safely. I only drink 1 cup of coffee (about 95 mg of caffeine) about 3 days a week and I may have a Diet Coke once a week (about 40 mg caffeine), so I think I'm doing pretty good. Though I'm starting to rethink that now that I can feel the baby move after I've had a cup of coffee. It makes me feel bad that I'm making him/her freak out in there. lol. But then my co-workers tell me I'm over reacting. hahaha. Regardless, I'll probably have to give it up once I start breastfeeding anyway - if I ever want to sleep again, that is. *grin*

Well, I suppose that's about it for now. If you haven't already, don't forget to vote in the poll on whether you think we're having a boy or a girl! I'll post again on Tuesday after I've had the sonogram!
