Goodbye first trimester!

I can't believe it's already here, but today is the first day of my second trimester!! I feel like I've been pregnant a month, maybe. But it's been 14 weeks - that's over three months! I guess it didn't have any reason to drag on... I was lucky - I never did get any morning sickness, which I am extremely thankful for. I had exhaustion pretty hard-core for awhile there, but that wasn't anything a few extra naps didn't cure (don't tell my boss). For me, the first trimester was pretty uneventful, well, until this last week. Things have really started to change recently! I hadn't really gained any weight, I just fluctuated between the same few pounds, but in the last week alone I've gained about 3 1/2 pounds! Meaning I've gained 5 1/2 pounds total so far (which is the perfect amount to gain during the first trimester - they recommend a 5-6 pound gain). And my stomach actually popped out a little. Not so much that anyone would really notice unless I pointed it out, but it's something! Most exciting of all, I actually started to feel a little movement last Wednesday. Nothing major, but it wasn't like anything I've felt before (so no, it wasn't gas), so I'm pretty sure it was the baby doing some somersaults or practicing his or her ninja moves. It's not constant (and it wouldn't be at 14 weeks), but it's a nice surprise every so often.

Things are going to pick up from here on out. I *should* gain about a pound a week now, so that should be interesting. I bought a ton of maternity clothing from Old Navy and a few other places last week, so that was fun. Well, not so much for my wallet... Everything came in on Friday, so I'm excited to not always have to wear tight pants now. A lot of it is still too big (obviously), but I'll grow into it.

I guess that's about it for now. I wish everyone a Happy Easter tomorrow! Our next doctors appointment is on April 16 at 9:50 a.m. Nothing exciting, just a regular check-up. Take care!
