I'm still pregnant!

I just got back from my appointment and everything looks great! The baby's heart rate was 140, which is perfect, and it was so nice to hear again. I wasn't able to record it since I was by myself, but it was much louder than last time. She found it instantly, front and center. I was a little shocked by this, considering how long it took her to locate last time. A lot changes in a month, I guess! I didn't get to listen very long and she talked to me the entire time she was listening to it, so I don't feel like I really got to enjoy it. Trying to focus on the heartbeat while your doctor is asking you questions is a little difficult.

According to my doctors office my weight is exactly the same as last time, but I know better... You see, last month for absolutely no reason whatsoever my weight shot up 3 pounds the day of my appointment, then it went away the day after my appointment! lol. So really, I've gained a few pounds this month - it's just that their numbers were off last month. I'll just continue to go by my scale since I weigh myself once or twice a week. Overall, I've gained 7 pounds (though I look like I've gained 15+! hahaha).

My doctor thought my Bella Band was the coolest thing in the world. She made me tell her where I got it and how it works so she could pass along the information to her other patients. I guess she's never seen one before! And here I thought they were common... Guess not! Best $15 I ever spent! Considering I look like a clown in maternity pants right now, it's nice to make my regular pants last a little longer, even if I do have to sit here with my pants unbuttoned all day.

Okay, now onto what you've all been waiting for......... Our sonogram has been scheduled! In a few short weeks we'll know if we're having a boy or a girl!! The sonogram is scheduled for May 5 at 11 a.m. What do you think it'll be??? Cast your vote on the poll on the right side of this blog.

  1. Ok you probably have already thought about this but if you sit and think about it..Great-Grandpa Merritt had boys first..Grandpa Merritt had boys first..Uncle Orrin had a boy first..Uncle Tom had boys first..and Dad had boys firts...odds are looking pretty good I have to say! :o) Either way it doesn't matter because boy or girl it will look good in Cubs attire which is really the most important part (ha jk)

  2. Um, where is your doctor from? Bella band have been around for awhile. Does your doctor not see pregnant women every day? :) That's funny.

  3. Janelle that is such a good point!
Laur, it's good to hear you're feeling great. Pregnant women everywhere are jealous! I am so glad your doctor appointment went so well.
The Bella Band sounds amazing - are they still acceptable for non-pregnant girls that have weight fluctuation issues? ;~)

  4. Jess, I totally plan on using the Bella Band post-pregnancy (and not just immediately after) for holidays and such. That way if I eat too much I can just unbutton my pants, put it on, and go about my business. hee hee.

Kelly, my doctor is actually a family practitioner - not an OB. Therefore she only has 1 or 2 pregnant patients at any given time. Plus, NO ONE around here seems to know what a Bella Band is! Not one person that I've shown it to has ever seen one before (and I've shown a lot of people, lol - I have no problem lifting up my shirt in a room full of people). I guess that's just Macomb for you!

  5. Hmmm, maybe you just have to have been a pregnant women in the past few years to know what they are. I don't think a average jane would probably know about it. :) Why would they really need to know? Unless, like you said, they had to much holiday dinner!! ;p
