I finally got a call from my doctors office... She will be able to do a gender scan for me, so at least I'm not being forced to have a surprise baby, hahaha. However, she will not be able to do the scan for me until my appointment in June. They only scheduled 15 minutes for my appointment next Friday (May 15), so they won't have enough time to do an ultrasound then. There weren't any other available appointments, so unfortunately I couldn't simply reschedule my appointment for the following week. I'm still going to mention it next week, just in case there happens to be a cancellation or she finds herself with extra time - but odds are I will not be finding out the sex of the baby until June.
Talk about a bummer. )c:
In all honesty, I'm okay with waiting. I'm not crawling out of my skin to find out or anything. My only issue is that I am perfectly capable of painting a nursery right now. Climbing up and down on a chair wouldn't give me any issues... In a month, though? I don't know! I will still be able to paint, but it will probably be more difficult. This means Jer will have to help. Um...... Jer and painting are not such a great combination (sorry hun, but it's true). He gets stressed out just WATCHING me paint! I can remember kicking him out of the living room a few years ago when I was painting the kitchen and hallway because he was so concerned I would miss a spot or drip paint on the crappy lanoleum or someting and I just couldn't take it anymore! But I already told him he is not allowed to get stressed out or complain or anything. If he does, I'm punching him in the throat. lol. Painting is so non-stressful to me. If you mess up, you touch it up later. No biggie. If you drip outside of the drip cloth, no biggie. Paint comes up easily if you catch it right away! I don't even tape much of anything off. Maybe the trim on the window, but even then I usually paint really carefully and don't have any issues. So I'm hoping I can just force feed him a few beers (okay, force probably won't be necessary) and make him chill out. I'd rather have him tipsy and having fun then freaking out if he gets a touch of paint on the ceiling. hahaha. We'll see! And I know he's reading this, so hopefully he's not all mad at me now. heh. Sorry hun, it had to be said!
Anyway, that got a little long...
In other news, I'm definitely feeling the baby move more now. At least once a day, and usually twice. I'm sure he/she is doing it more often - but if I'm busy at work or whatever I'm just not paying attention. It's still not anything distinct, but I can tell it's the baby and not just whatever I ate for lunch.
In weight news, no real change. I'm up a total of 10 pounds, which is right on track. I've only gained a pound in the last two weeks, which I figure is fine. They say I should gain a pound a week now, but my doctor says some weeks I'll gain 1 lb, some weeks I'll gain 4 lbs, and some weeks I'll gain nothing or even lose. I'm just going to go with it.
My allergies are really really bad this year. It figures we'd have a crazy horrible year for allergies when I'm pregnant and can't take anything! lol. Everyone around here is suffering - I'm not sure what's different, but I don't like it. I told Jer this morning that when we decide to have another baby we'll have to start trying in April or May so that I won't be pregnant during allergy season again. lol. I want my drugs!!!!!
I guess that's about it for me. Jer hasn't posted in awhile, maybe we should get on him about that!
